Kerala Government Launched the First Government Owned OTT Platform, CSpace. This is India’s first public-sector OTT Platform that offers services with a monthly subscription cost of Rs.75/-. Let’s Discuss the Indian First Government Owned OTT Platform.
Technology is rapidly advancing in today’s world, and internet usage is on the rise. As a result, OTT (over-the-top) platforms have emerged, and they have gained immense popularity in recent years. Private companies have been the sole providers of OTT services so far, but now public sector organizations are also entering this market.
The government of Kerala recently launched its own OTT platform called ‘CSpace’, making it the first public sector OTT platform in India. CSpace aims to bridge the gap between the content currently being broadcast on OTTs and the selection of content that viewers want. Users can download the CSpace app from the Google Play store or iOS and access a wide range of movies and shorter-length content at a reasonable price.
Viewers can watch movies on CSpace for Rs. 75/-, while shorter content is available at half the price. Producers are paid on a ‘pay-per-view’ basis, and budding directors can even crowdfund their films through CSpace. Only movies that have been released in theatres will be available on CSpace. Interestingly, a portion of the profits generated from CSpace will be used to support the welfare of unemployed professionals in the film industry.
