Google’s Circle to Search feature was first introduced with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in January. It comes with other AI-powered features such as Live Translate and Note Assist. The feature was made available to the Pixel 8 models in the same month through the Pixel feature drop. Now, in March, the Circle to Search feature has been extended to the Pixel 7 lineup and is also available on other Android phones. Google has announced that more Android handsets can now access this tool through a new update.

What is Google’s Circle to Search feature?
The Circle to Search feature helps users shop for specific styles or items without much hassle. It also allows users to translate anything on their screen while travelling to foreign places. To use it, users must long-press the home button or navigation bar and tap the translate option.
How does Google’s Circle to Search Feature Work?
This feature allows users to search for anything instantly without switching apps with a few gestures. Users can circle, write, highlight, or tap on anything on their screen, such as images, text, or videos, and select a search option. It is supported by generative AI, which delivers information faster and helps with more complex research.
For example, while watching a cat video on Instagram and spotting a cat with a bow tie, users can draw a circle around it to search for similar ties or cats. The Google search drawer can immediately retrieve relevant details without switching apps by pausing the video and drawing a circle or box around the bow tie.
