Samsung, a leading smartphone and gadget maker, is expected to host an Unpacked event in July of this year. The event is likely to see the launch of several key products, including the next-generation Samsung foldable smartphone and the Samsung Smart Ring.
Additionally, rumours suggest that Samsung is also likely to launch the next-generation Galaxy Watch, which is currently referred to as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7. The watch was recently spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website, which indicates that it will work on Bluetooth version 5.3. This is the same Bluetooth version used in the Galaxy Watch 6, which was released last year. However, Samsung has made no official announcement regarding the Watch 7.
According to reports, the Galaxy Watch 7 is expected to run on Samsung’s first 3nm chipset, which is 50% more powerful than the Galaxy Watch 6. It is also expected to have 32GB of internal storage. Some reports suggest that the Galaxy Watch 7 series will be available in three versions, all of which will have WiFi and eSIM capabilities.
One issue that has come to light is that the Galaxy Watch 7 series will have a rectangular design, but the reasons for this have not been disclosed. This could give Apple a chance to compete.
The Galaxy Watch 7 series will reportedly have three variants. The first variant will have two model numbers (SM-L300 and SM-L305), the second variant will have model numbers SM-L310 and SM-L315, and the third variant (top-end variant) will have model numbers SM-L700 and SM-L705. The variant with the last digit 5 in the model numbers is expected to have cellular connectivity, including eSIM support.
Although the price of the Galaxy Watch 7 series has not been revealed, the base Bluetooth variant of the Galaxy Watch 6 is currently priced at Rs.19999, while the classic variant is priced at Rs. 36,999.
More specifications and features about the Galaxy Watch 7 are expected to be revealed soon.
